As the CLIENT, you are signing off on the following when ordering a reading from DarkLake Tarot:
- That you [or if the purchase is a gift, the person that you are buying the reading for] are at least 18 years or older.
- That you recognize that the Services offered here at DarkLake Tarot are strictly for entertainment, empowerment, or encouragement.
- That you understand that you are still in control of your own life, and are thus wholly responsible for any action that you decide to take after the reading has concluded.
- That any information relayed to you through a reading with DarkLake Tarot is never meant to be construed or substituted for any psychological care, healthcare/medical advice or legal/financial decisions, or meant to overrule the professional opinions of any person gainly employed in such fields.
- That Lindsay of DarkLake Tarot reserves the right to refuse service to anyone at her personal discretion.
As the sole operator + Reader here at DarkLake Tarot, I adhere to the following Code of Ethics:
Under no circumstances will I humour or tolerate any disrespect, intolerance, or otherwise negative behaviour targeted at me, my practice or any other person who shares this space for their beliefs- perpetrators will be immediately blacklisted and banned.
- Confidentiality: I don't share details of your reading to anyone- Ever! - without established, conditional consent. This means that the consent obtained is only applicable to that one instance, and be revoked by you at any time. Your privacy is important to me, and I respect the sensitivity of a person's reading request, and thus work under the strictest of confidences as a default.
Similarly, I will never provide your personal details [name, contact info, billing info] to any outside sources for marketing purposes or any other purpose without your expressed permission. If this permission is revoked for whatever reason, your personal details will be removed, no questions asked. - Compassion: I hold no bias and make no judgement of my clients' backgrounds, lifestyles and/or beliefs. I will not shy away from telling you what I think you need to hear, nor do I believe in sugarcoating my readings- but anything that comes out of my time with you is from an earnest place of wanting to help you heal and see you succeed in your life.
However, if I sense that I can't complete your request due to my own reading ethics [eg: reading about medical advice] or if your concerns are better handled by a trained professional [eg: if you are at risk of self-harm and/or hurting others], I will tell you as honestly as I can, refer to you sources that might be of better help to you, and- depending on the situation- issue a full refund and/or not move forward with your booking request. - Connection: Ultimately, my work is meant to help you get the most out of this tumultuous shared experience we call 'Life'- even if it's for a brief moment in time. I personally feel that the more that we strive to connect the gap between our conscious and subconscious states, and become more in touch with our True Self [as methods like tarot and astrology can help facilitate], the easier it will be for us in turn to help others realize just how cosmically interwoven we are as a people.
I operate under WYSIWYG- What You See Is What You Get. How I communicate and connect with you online is no different to how I would connect with you in-person, and the more you are able to fully open up and connect with me, the more honest your reading request will be- and the better I can help you!
